Epiphone Goth Thunderbird-IV Electric Bass Guitar Review

The Epiphone Goth Thunderbird: A Rock and Roll Bass

There is no greater feeling than performing music on stage in front of a crowd of thousands. Picture it!  A massive crowd chanting the lyrics to your song, deafening cheers around the stadium, and you and your bandmates doing what you love.

I have had the privilege of being a professional musician for several years, and let me tell you, the low’s may be low, but nothing beats the highs.

Like with any profession, being a musician is hard to get into at first. You play smaller places, and smaller venues. I’ll never forget playing a gig and there were only two people in the audience: my mom and my dad. I went home thinking: how pathetic am I and almost gave up.

But I decided to keep on going, and in just a year, I was playing to a crowd of 500 people, and that number has grown and grown. This is because I stuck with my craft and PRACTICED!

In order to practice, you must, of course, own a musical instrument. Since I am a bassist, I want to steer you in the right direction in order for you to make your purchase. There are so many brands available on the market today that vary in price, size, and playing type.

It can be overwhelming, but I am here to help guide you towards what brands work and what brands don’t. One bass guitar brand is the Epiphone Goth Thunderbird Electric Bass. It is very affordable and available online for purchase.

Verdict

The Epiphone Goth Thunderbird Electric Bass is a great purchase for someone who is very new to playing the bass. I truly believe it is one of the best affordable basses on the market today. It looks/sounds like a bass from a band such as Metallica or the Rolling Stones. It definitely gets the job done.

It has a great sound and is easy to play. Unlike many other basses on the market, the Epiphone cannot be played acoustically. So, on top of the guitar, you would have to buy an amp to go with it.

That being said, this price is a steal for a great-sounding bass. It sounds just as good as any of the high-end ones I’ve played, while also having a great look. The onboard pickups are not the greatest, but if you are just beginning to learn, you will not mind one bit.

If you are a more advanced bassist looking for the highest quality instrument, the Epiphone Goth Thunderbird Electric Bass would be a great secondary bass for you at a gig. But if you are looking for an electric bass that is easy to move and doesn’t need additional features, then the Epiphone Goth Thunderbird Electric Bass would be a great buy.

What I recommend to anyone new to playing a musical instrument is to not buy online until you have gone to a store and tested it out for yourself. Musical instruments are all about personal preference, and are also dependent on your height, your skill level, and what you are looking for in a bass. So, try it out in person, and if it works for you, THEN buy!
